Blog: SHOULD YOU BE WORRIED ABOUT PARASITES?

This question comes up often, especially by parents of young children. Parasite infestations are much more common than you might know!

Living in a warm climate, eating meat, fish, sushi, children kissing the dog or cat, infants crawling outside, all increase the risk of parasite infestation.

Travelling into rural areas and swimming in fresh water streams and rivers can lead to waterborne contact with liver flukes and bilharzia.

Symptoms experienced with an infestation can be:

  • nausea and diarrhoea
  • abdominal pain
  • loss of appetite or increased appetite (Tape-worm) with accompanying weight loss & fatigue.
  • Fatigue & weakness
  • Skin irritation – itching  (especially in children around the anal area, in early hours of the morning due to pinworms)
  • Insomnia – grinding of teeth at night.

Chronic infestation will cause inflammation resulting in cellular changes. Endotoxins released by the parasites in an acidic medium, cause a chemical reaction that can lead to certain cancers.

Regardless of whether you have parasite-specific symptoms or not, it’s a good idea to do regular parasite cleansing especially if you live with pets. Children 1-6 years of age should be treated every 6 months, while adults once a year.

HOW TO DO A PARASITE CLEANSE

If one has never been ‘de-wormed’, then both the Pegasus Parasite 30C homeopathic remedy and the Pegasus Parasite Cleanse Herbal Tincture Complex, should be taken in conjunction. This treatment system is simple and straightforward but must be adhered to for 21 days (the average lifecycle of most parasites from egg to larvae to adult is 3 weeks).

Children who succumb to repeated infestation, benefit particularly from the Homeopathic Parasite 30C remedy (Homeopathy always goes to the ‘root cause’)

The Parasite Cleanse Tincture is 50ml, retailing at R170

The Parasite 30C remedy is 25g and retails for R220 (but will suffice for a course for 3 patients)

Side effects post deworming, are mild if any: fatigue and low-grade nausea. One does, rarely, see expelled worms in the stool.

These remedies are currently only available online.  Should you wish to purchase, please go here to our online shop.
