Cape Town seems to be experiencing an epidemic of gastric problems due to – some say – the low water levels in our dams which possibly affects the quality of our drinking water. Doctors are advising their patients to boil their water before drinking. Apart from that, Summer is informally known anyway as diarrhoea season in the medical fraternity. Which is why we’re focussing on NVD 30C (Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea) this month to help those of you suffering with this nasty tummy bug. If you’re currently afflicted, take the time to rest, restore your minerals by taking electrolyes, and please drink plenty of water.
Learn how to check in with what your body is telling you. If you feel your insides cramp, rumble and start to churn, it’s often a signal of impending diarrhoea. Or if you’re suddenly aware of having more saliva in your mouth, this is your body’s warning signal that you may be about to feel nauseous and need to vomit.
Have this remedy handy as tummy bugs tend to strike all of a sudden. This remedy treats gastro-intestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, dehydration and the dizziness that can accompany these conditions. Whether the symptoms are due to food poisoning or a viral stomach bug, it helps to ease the rumbling of your intestines, and the weak, nauseated feeling that accompanies the intestinal discomfort and after 3 doses, the symptoms normally disappear. You might still feel a bit tired but your recovery will be a lot speedier and you’ll soon feel well again. If you have become dehydrated as a result of losing so much water, use Pegasus FLUID IMBALANCE 6C which I wrote about in a previous blog. This helps to restore effective fluid distribution in your body.
You can use NVD 30C when you are already feeling nauseous. If you feel worried that you’re about to become nauseous due to travel or motion sickness, or because you are pregnant, then rather use Pegasus VMT 30C (Vertigo, Morning & Travel Sickness)
Apart from anything else, NVD 30C can be a life-saving travel companion – especially when eating food you may not be accustomed to leading to all sorts of stomach discomforts. I personally never travel without it!
“What can I do to prevent travel sickness? I’m about to travel by boat and air and I did not do at all well on a boat trip previously. I really don’t want to embarrass myself by vomiting in front of everybody, but I feel nauseous just at the thought of getting on a plane. Yet I love travelling! Please help!”
If you know you have a tendency to nausea when travelling then it’s best to take the VMT 30C remedy beforehand. Take one dose an hour before departure and one dose just before you get onto the plane or boat.
Dose every 30 minutes if acute otherwise at intervals of 1-2 hours. VMT 30C is perfectly safe for your children, and even your animals if they’re prone to travel sickness.
