We feel better after being outside in sunlight; but do you know why?
Sunlight produces vitamin D and beta-endorphins in your skin, which makes you feel good, nitric oxide, which can help lower your blood pressure, as well as a host of other health-promoting chemicals. And yet we’re told to avoid the sun because it’s bad for us!
The truth is, we need sunlight. Simply going for a walk outside in the early morning helps to set your natural circadian rhythms which promotes better sleep patterns.
So this month we encourage you to shake off your winter woollies, get moving, get outdoors and into the fresh air and sunlight.
