Blog: THE SNEEZING SEASON

This month we’re looking at: Allergies

With the advent of pollens in the air, hay fever and general allergies aren’t far behind. This is when the histamine comp remedy (a natural anti-histamine that does not make you sleepy) comes into its own. This remedy helps the patient build up a ‘tolerance’ to the presenting antigen ie: pollen, grass, dust, etc so that they react less and less with each episode.

But don’t get confused between whether you should use histamine comp 30C or Hayfever 6C remedy. Remember with hay fever, you will have very specific symptoms. Not only will you have itchy watery eyes and nose but your palate (the roof of your mouth) will also itch like mad and sneezing will prevail.

When you suffer from a more generalised allergenic response ie: not only eyes and nose but also itching skin, it’s more appropriate to take histamine comp 30C

Very often, sinus problems can be triggered with allergy conditions. It’s a good idea to then use the sinus remedy (which will help with a post nasal drip and headache) alternated with the histamine comp.

If allergies result in heavy congestion ( in your ears as well as sinuses) then muco-drainol will help to relieve the blocked, congested feeling.

This combination works very well for kids with ear infection as well. It’s often a good idea to add in the anti-virabac200C (the Pegasus natural antibiotic), should the mucous become green or yellow tinged, indicating a bacterial infection.

The 25g remedy bottles contains 150 doses. At a retail price of around R119.00 per bottle, that’s an affordable way to last you and your family through Spring and Summer hay fever season.
